Usually high -protein diets are not known to cause any harmful consequences. However if the diet includes excessive intake of red meat and dairy products like cheese, it can put the person at risk for cardiovascular diseases. Low-fat dairy products and lean meats and non-oily fish are better options for a protein diet.
