Any significant changes in blood glucose levels can increase your risk of hypo or hyperglycemia and getting diabetic complications. Some tips to avoid any highs and lows are to maintain a strict diet, exercise regularly, measure your glucose levels (before and after every meal) and keep a record of it. Make a change in your medications and insulin based on these readings or consult your Doctor to make adjustments for better glucose control.

For the original discussion question, please monitor your readings and maintain a chart of what you eat and what exercise you performed over a period of time so you can discuss the readings with your doctor.

Often, unmanaged diabetes may have more than one causes from the above. You may want to see a Diabetes Educator to seek guidance and create harmony in your blood sugars.
