Shivani Maheshwari, our editor who interviewed Dr. Nandini Murali shares her view on the book and recommends it. It is an important addition in a field hardly even spoken about.
There are not many books like these. That make a bold attempt to behold suicide loss from close quarters. Nandini Murali’s book Left Behind: Surviving Suicide Loss is an intensely personal account about the loss of her husband by suicide, her devastation and her intrepid journey of repair and restoration.
The book takes a deep courageous dive into suicide bereavement and is suffused with narratives of other survivors who lost a loved one to suicide. It is a heartwarming journey from pain to purpose. Lucidly structured and compellingly written, Left Behind is a fine comprehensive read on surviving suicide loss.
There are learnings about life, science and spirituality, transforming through trauma which everybody can extract from the book, not just those affected.
